Can I bring a plus one?

Due to limited capacity, we can only accommodate guests who are formally invited. If you’ve received a plus one they’ll be specifically addressed on the invitation. We only want people there who we know and love. Sorry!

Are children welcome?

Children are welcome to attend the ceremony only. The following cocktail hour and reception is strictly 18+ Adult Time. Thanks for understanding :)

Are there any other events for the weekend?

Join us the day after for recovery lunch, drinks and a proper catch up! We would love to hear all the stories we missed from the night before.

Where is the venue?

The entire wedding is hosted at Gardens House, Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne. See here for more info on Venue and Getting There.

Is the wedding outside?
Yes. The ceremony, cocktail hour and following reception are all planned to be outdoors. You will walk through the gardens on paved pathways, but you’ll need to step on grass briefly to take your seats and enjoy cocktail hour. For that reason, maybe give the stilettos a rest for this one.

What will the weather be like?
It’s Melbourne - who knows? Google says average November weather is a 23° / 13°. Maybe bring a coat, cardigan or shawl if it becomes a cooler evening. More of an excuse to get up and dance?

I’m travelling to Melbourne. Where should I stay?
The venue is within 30 minutes of the airport and 10 minutes from the CBD. Located in South Yarra, you'll find lots of accommodation in the CBD and surrounding suburbs. All will get you to the venue within 10 minutes by car or 20 minutes by public transport.

What is the dress code?

Black tie optional.

Men: Think tuxedo or dark suit and tie.
Gals: An evening gown or a formal/cocktail dress would be cool. Colour encouraged!
- Note that the ceremony and cocktail hour is on grass, so this is your last warning for stilettos.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?
We kindly ask that you keep the ceremony "unplugged". This means that you will put your phones and cameras away during the ceremony. Leave it to the professionals! Take as many photos as you want at cocktail hour and reception.

Can I post to social media?
Go for it! However, please don't share any photos of the bride and groom on social media before we’ve had the opportunity to do so <3

Do you have a registry?

No registry, we have a wishing well. Having you with us on the day is what matters most, and we so appreciate for the effort you've made to celebrate with us.

If you wish to honor us with a card or gift, we’d be grateful for a contribution to our wishing well in place of traditional presents. You'll find the wishing well on the Welcome Table at the entrance to the house, accompanied by the guest book.

Do you have a guest book?

Yep! Take a selfie or photo with the polaroid camera and stick it into the book, then write a little note while you're there.

What time should I arrive?

3:00pm arrival
3:15pm take your seat
3:30pm ceremony start

Allow plenty of time to travel and find the venue. Account for time to walk from the entry gate to the venue within the gardens. If you arrive earlier than 3:00pm, soak up the surrounding gardens until the venue is ready to welcome you.

When does the ceremony start?

The ceremony starts at 3:30pm. We hope that everyone can begin taking their seats by 3:15pm. If you are late, you'll need to wait until after the ceremony to join the party.

What follows the ceremony?

To see through the night, an alfresco hour with drinks and canapes will follow the ceremony. After that, we'll host a three-course dinner reception and dancing the cap off the night. All at the same location. We expect the night to close around 11pm.
